Q1) What is a chair massage?
A chair massage is a 15-20 minute massage that focuses on the high tension areas of the neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. The massage is performed on an ergonomically designed portable massage chair. You sit on the massage chair facing forward, with your head in a facerest. You don't remove any clothing. Chair massage produces therapeutic results quickly by concentrating on the areas of greatest tension.
Q2) Where is the massage conducted ?
A quiet corner or conference room will be ideal for chair massage.
Q3) How much space is needed?
Not much - only a small 5' x 6' area is needed for the therapist to set up the massage chair and have enough room to move around comfortably.
Q4) what equipment are you using ?
We invest in only the best massage tables and massage chairs in the spa industry from Oakworks and Earthlite for your guests and clients to lie on. We also use therapeutic-grade aromatherapy essential oils and smoke-less tealights to enhance the ambience so that you and your colleagues are able to relax and enjoy the holistic experience.
Q5) Do I remove my clothing?
No. During a chair massage, you remain fully clothed, though you may be asked to remove a jacket or obstructive jewelry.
Q6) Do You use oils during the massage?
The massage is non-intrusive and oil-free. Special techniques and acupressure are incorporated so treatments are performed over clothing and you can remain comfortable and relaxed.
Q7) What ABOUT cleanliness?
Before each massage session, our massage therapists will clean their hands; disinfect the massage chair and face-rest, and apply a fresh face-rest cover.
Q8) What if I want more or less pressure?
Just ask! Our massage therapists are trained to adapt to a wide variety of body types and sensitivities to pressure.
Q9) What can I expect in a 15-minute chair massage?
During the 15-minute session, the therapist will focus on relieving muscle tension in your neck, shoulders, and back. If you'd like your arms and hands massaged too, please let the massage therapist know, but keep in mind that will leave less time for the other areas.
q10) What can I expect in a 20-minute chair massage?
During the 20-minute session, the massage therapist will work on your neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands. If you'd like more time spent on one specific area, just let the therapist know.
Q11) What can I expect in a 30-minute chair massage? A 30-minute session allows the massage therapist do in-depth work on your neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands. Any specific areas of concern can be thoroughly addressed.
Q12) Can I have the therapist work on just one area? At the beginning of the massage the therapist will ask if you have any specific concerns. If you'd like the massage therapist to focus on one specific area, just ask.
Q13) Will I be tired afterwards?
Some individuals may mistake a sense of relaxation for fatigue. In fact, research has shown chair massage recipients to be more alert and focused after the massage.
Q14) Do we have to prepare anything before the massage session?
Female staff is encouraged to wear pants to take full advantage of the ergonomic features of our Portal Pro III massage chair. We also provide towels for staff in skirts.
Q15) Are gratuities or tips expected?
Gratuities are not expected or necessary.
Q16) I'm pregnant. Can I still get a chair massage?
It is advisable to obtain an approval from your doctor if you are pregnant.
Q17) Are there contraindications for chair massage?
Yes. Although massage is a safe therapy, ideal for all ages. However, to ensure a safe and enjoyable massage experience for everyone, individuals who have conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, major surgery within last 3 months or pregnancy are advised to get approval from their doctor before attending the session. Please inform your massage therapist of any acute or ongoing health conditions before the chair massage.
Q18) How many massage therapists will I need for my event?
The ideal number of therapists needed for your event will be determined by various factors including expected traffic, available space and your budget. Contact us and we'll help customise the best package.
Q19) Who are your massage therapists?
Essential Kneads therapists are some of the best in Singapore who are trained and experienced in chair massage and other forms of massage such as table massage, reflexology, and manicure.
Q20) How long should the massage sessions be?
For conventions, trade-shows and special events, we recommend starting with 10-minute chair massage sessions and adjusting according to traffic. For corporate massage, 20-30 minutes is generally preferable.
Q21) How do i book your services?
Easy! Simply submit an online request for quotation and we will reply within one business day. You may also email us at enquiry@essentialkneads.com.sg or call us at (65) 6315 1654 to book a date. A minimum of 3 weeks of advance booking is necessary prior to the appointment date for an effective wellness programme. Do quote the number of staff who will be participating.
Q22) How far in advance should we schedule with you?
We appreciate a minimum of three weeks' advance notice.
Q23) Is there a minimum booking?
Yes, a three hour minimum booking is required for all services.
Q24) Can you provide an attendant for the event?
For larger events, a booth attendant can be included in your quote - just let us know what your needs are and we'll be sure to accommodate you.
Q25) Do you offer event services other than chair massage?
Yes we do! Our services includes foot reflexology, manicure, beauty and more.
Q26) Can I extend the massage session?
Yes, but this is subject to the organizer's approval and our schedule. The minimum time extension is 30 minutes. Every effort is made to massage the number of staff in the agreed time frame. However, Essential Kneads cannot be held responsible for fewer massages completed due to the recipients being late for their appointed massage.
Q27) Postponement
Postponement must be made at least 5 working days before the appointment date. Postponement can be made in writing to Essential Kneads. All due effort will be made to accommodate a change of date request which will incur no additional charges provided the 5 working days advance notice is given. A change in date request will be treated as a new appointment and is subject to standard notice requirements.
Q28) What's your cancellation / refund policy?
Upon cancellation of appointment, the 50% non-refundable deposit made will be forfeited.
Q29) How is the payment to be made?
All confirmed booking require a 50% non-refundable deposit by cheque made payable to Essential Kneads. Remaining balance is due upon completion of session.

Essential Kneads takes no responsibility for any damage of property or lost of items during or after the session. All guests who wish to experience a massage should be in good health and have no contraindications. Essential Kneads takes no responsibility for any injuries. |
